Algorithmic Design: a hands-on experience
Symposium and exhibition at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo: 24th February
THANK YOU !
Thanks a lot to all the people who attended the Symposium !
The presentations were truly interesting and the panel discussion has been stimulating too.
Thanks also to the public who asked questions afterwards.
We assembled 3 models in the exhibition hall of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo and 1 in the external plaza near the entrance.
They look as if they were made on purpose for that place.
The models will be exhibited there until sunday 26th at 13:00. Don't miss the chance to see them !!!!
The whole process of the workshop and symposia has been very sustainable, as the models have been reused 3 times in 3 different occasions and therefore fulfilling the requirements of compactness, transportability, ease of assembling/dismatling and reusability that were set at the beginning.
This concludes the aast experience in Tokyo for this year.
Once again, thanks to all those who contributed in one way or another.
Let us know your feedback, on the "Contact" page of this website, for a future edition of advanced architecture events.

The symposium will present the results of an experience that has linked virtual and real, conceptuality and materiality and has demonstrated the potential of Algorithmic Design as a practical tool for a new kind of manufacturing of architectural space and objects.
In emergency situations, when traditional supply and construction chains are disrupted, this process of design by small but networked groups and this type of factory-less fabrication are particularly interesting.
The symposium will discuss these topics in relation to sustainability and architectural education. The full-scale prototypes - designed in a way to be composed of several small elements, compactable and easy to transport - will be re-assembled and exhibited at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo on friday 24th February 2012.
Place:
Italian Institute of Culture 2-1-30, Kudan Minami, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0074, http://www.iictokyo.esteri.it/IIC_Tokyo/
